Losing your nouns

Updated: May 20, 2023

It's on the tip of the tip of your tongue. That word. What is that word?

Where is the noun? I know I saw it here somewhere.

You're vividly describing your most recent adventure in the search for the perfect restaurant. Your friends are rapt. All eyes are on you as you recount the story. And then, it happens... you can't remember the next word. You know the one. It's going to wow your audience.

You stop in mid-sentence. You try to think of it before anyone notices. You act like you're pausing for effect. Except the delay goes on and on, seems to stretch out to all eternity. You can't even find a synonym.

You have two choices: ask your companions to help you find the word, laughing it off with a reminder of the dictum that, as you get older, you lose your nouns; or pretend that you have an urgent matter to take care of, drop some cash on the table and run.

We all lose our nouns, as well as our adjectives, adverbs and verbs. However, language professionals never blame it on age or run away. We will spend as much time as it takes to find the perfect word for your translation or adaptation. It's an unwritten code.

When you put your trust in us, it's well-placed. We don't only find lost words, we find all the best words, we put them together just so, keeping your business strategy, target audience and communications objective top of mind.

So next time you forget that perfect noun, think about us.
